[10:47] Since the upgrade it's started hard-locking with what appears to be no reason. It'll run for a week or or, or perhaps only a few hours before completly locking up. I have a monitor attached now and the only differece after the lock is the cursor on login stops flashing. I'm having to power-cycle it to get it back up. [10:47] It's running docker and does have a some ZFS volumes (non-root). [10:47] I've trawled through syslog and there's nothing untowards at the point it locks, just normal messages. Is there anything else I can try before downgrading it? [11:05] willyp: sounds like a kernel/driver issue. It's difficult to deal with these unfortunately. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Debugging might offer some help. [11:05] https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingSystemCrash specifically maybe [11:13] rbasak thanks for the links, I was hoping there was some known issue with 24.04 but perhaps wishful thinking. I didn't know about the alt+.. keys to get a trace. Kinda expected if there was a panic it'd be logged to the screen anyway and a bit stumped when it just did nothing. [11:13] I'll give that a go next time it happens. Hopefully soon! [11:13] You might want to share the end of your last log; journalctl -u SERVICE_NAME -e [11:14] oh === willyp7 is now known as willyp === Guest86 is now known as Arnaud42 === sdeziel_ is now known as sdeziel [16:46] RAM issues can also show up as random lockups. You could try reseating the ram or taking out a few sticks (if there are several) and see if it still crashes. [16:47] Yes, it worked until the upgrade, but maybe before the upgrade the issue just wasn't triggered.
