[23:06] <unklebonehead> There is also someone who restarting the Illinois LoCo as well. Was just talking with him earlier today.
[23:10] <unklebonehead> Does anybody know what happened with all the LoCo's? A few years ago I remember seeing them everywhere. Now that I'm interested in sticking with Ubunutu and not hopping to a new distro every week. Theres hardly any left. Lol.
[23:26] <greg-g> I think the desktop linux world changed. Ubuntu really started something in 2004, but now that Canonical isn't as focused on the desktop side, they aren't pushing the LoCos (as I as I know). The financial support, dedicated staff to helping you, and going to the Ubuntu Developer Summit (sometimes) were all really useful to keep momentum going.

[23:30] <greg-g> and I think the community just kind of moved on too. It's a both/and kind of thing I think.

[23:32] <unklebonehead> I distro hopped all that time. I did spend about 2 yrs with PopOS. That was my longest stint.

[23:35] <unklebonehead> Oh that sucks. I lost my best friend a couple of months ago to stomach cancer.
[23:37] <unklebonehead> He was my best friend for almost 30 years. He went to the doctor for stomach cramps and he was gone in a months time.
