xu-help85w | Hello, I have just installed Xubuntu 24.04 on a new Dell Latitude laptop. It is all good except when I close the laptop then later open it the computer freezes. Only the cursor moves and the off switch works, but nothing else. Is there a solution to this bug available? Many thanks. | 19:46 |

xu-irc40w | I have an old PC running Xubuntu, I just updated my OS to 22.04.4 and my GUI won't load anymore. I believe it's related to a graphics driver (black screen with blinking cursor, and keeps reloading to the same screen if I try to switch to a CLI environment (Ctrl+alt+F1). Something similar happened last year and I was able to get it figured out after | 23:08 |

ubottu | xu-irc40w: Systems with certain graphics chipsets may not boot properly out of the box. "Temporarily Add a Kernel Boot Parameter for Testing" as discussed at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters to add the "nomodeset" parameter there. | 23:13 |

Bashing-om | xu-irc40w: Then does not seem to be a graphic's driver - can you start a TTY from grub's boot menu ? - append 'systemd.unit=multi-user.target ' to the linux line, | 23:59 |
