What's the problem. [06:08] Kubuntu 22.04 [06:13] CatchMe007, NVIDIA driver? [07:33] Could not find a useful proxy setup script. What to do? Operating System: Kubuntu 24.04 [07:33] KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11 [07:33] KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0 [07:33] Qt Version: 5.15.13 [07:33] Kernel Version: 6.8.0-40-generic (64-bit) [07:33] Graphics Platform: X11 [07:34] user|64: what do you mean by 'proxy setup script'? [07:38] I get information that my system cannot find a proxy setup script. I am new to Linux and after I installed Kubuntu 24.04 I keep getting these messages, not error, but just as message. Is it someting mandatory to have a proxy script? [07:44] When I try to install a package I get messages that it is failed.Error while installing package: installed matlab-support package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 [07:54] user|64: that is a complete different story, what package you are trying to install? [07:58] I just tried to install PDF Arranger as an example. Package installation failed. [08:03] user|64: where did you get that package from? [08:04] From Discover in Kubuntu. I dont need matlab support package, I just installed it by accident. But I could not remove it either. I have matlab installed, if that is a separate program from my support package. [08:05] user|64: open a terminal and run: sudo apt install -f [08:08] I dont have matlab installed [08:09] did you run the command above? [08:11] Yes, and there was a lot of information about matlab showing. I had that information eariler too. IHow can I show the information here? [08:11] The MATLAB interface needs to know where MATLAB is installed on the system. This can be specified as a single │ [08:11]  │ directory or, eg when multiple MATLAB installations are available, as a glob expression (all │ [08:11]  │ expressions that bash handles, including pattern-matching operators). │ [08:11]  │ │ [08:11]  │ If, for example, the MATLAB executables are installed in /opt/matlab76/bin/matlab, "/opt/matlab76" must be specified. │ [08:11]  │ If there are multiple MATLAB versions installed, you can specify "/opt/matlab*" or equivalent │ [08:13] I think it's not NVIDIA driver but I am not sure. I have Dell laptop with Intel i3 6th Gen, 2GB AMD Graphics, 8 GB RAM and SSD. (re @IrcsomeBot: CatchMe007, NVIDIA driver?)
