I worked around it by manually re-installing the latest version (not the best of options for most people). [02:06] Hello Darin, thank you for answering. You mean reinstalling using the new Kubuntu ISO file? (re @DarinMiller: Hi Luis, I experienced the same problem and was never able to solve it. I worked around it by manually re-installing the latest version (not the best of options for most people).) [02:06] Correct. [02:07] Oh dear 😅 (re @DarinMiller: Correct.) === xcynth_ is now known as tbowes [07:54] Where’s the wiki for upgrade? [09:50] Hey, I have an issue with Kubuntu 24:04. I have tried it and was very happy but it can't mount and open an external HD that is very important for me, so I came back to 22:04. I wonder... If I upgrade without formatting ... Will I have that issue anyway? [10:56] Hello guys! i just upgraded to 24.04 from 22.04 on a lenovo thinkpad laptop and i have a problem with my external screen. After a while the signal to my external screen is cutted off. is anyone have the same problem? [11:24] @user|63 if you are still here, this sounds like a possible graphics driver issue. What gpu are you using? After a restart I'm unable to mount secondary ntfs SSD. What should I do? [22:53] linux__: sudo apt install ntfs-3g? [22:55] arraybolt3: It's installed [22:57] hmm, not sure then, can you mount it on Windows and then shut down cleanly? [22:58] an unclean shutdown with a mounted NTFS partition makes it unmountable in Linux until it's been "fixed" and only Windows has good fixing tools for NTFS. [22:58] (if you don't have a Windows machine you could use Hiren's Boot CD PE) [22:59] No Win on the hardware, just linux [23:00] then yeah, I'd use HBCD just to mount the disk, then shut down normally and boot back into Kubuntu, see if that fixes it. [23:04] So it was Kubuntu 22.04 with the same ntfs SSD working on it. After the upgrade to 24.04.0 via the update app the drive is unable to mount. So I formatted to NTFS with Ubuntu a couple of years ago and used with the same system. I don't use Win for 6 years. [23:07] I'd like to fix it on this Ubuntu system without loosing my data on the drive [23:36] M8CO [23:36] M8C0
