mwhudsonah i see sil2100 fixed it02:32

sil2100Eickmeyer: so I checked and in theory the rebuilds of studio via isotracker now work, but there's a catch: there will be issues with this in series older than noble13:41
sil2100Eickmeyer: the dvd -> daily-live switch wasn't done in a backwards compatible way, so some things (like tracker integration) are not working13:42
sil2100Eickmeyer: fixing this seems at least non-trivial, so I can't sadly sit down to that13:42
sil2100But oracular and noble should be good13:43

-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- New: accepted aevol [source] (oracular-proposed) [5.0+ds-3ubuntu1]15:07
liushuyuvorlon: Yes, kanashiro and I are currently fixing the issues15:12
liushuyuruby-guestfs and ruby-hivex are also blocked by ocaml transition15:13
vorlonliushuyu: ok15:13
vorlonshould those be removed temporarily from the release pocket?15:13
vorlonhmm ruby-guestfs is built from libguestfs so no15:13
vorlonbut if that was the only blocker we could leave it temporarily uninstallable15:14
liushuyuvorlon: We can first fix all the others and see if there are any other packages being broken15:14

tjaaltonrelease team; the kernel feature freeze is next week, and we have almost everything landed already in the kernel which is in proposed now (zfs builds and works at least for me, nvidia builds..). still waiting for the apparmor update..17:21
tjaaltonlrm kernels need to be rebased to the next generic kernel update, then these would have a chance to migrate to release, as nvidia updates have been holding them back17:22

vorlonliushuyu: node-yarnpkg is still failing autopkgtests with an error that appears unrelated to the update-excuses bug; do you have any insights? it's a tls timeout so maybe another bad network test but the stack trace points into minified garbage js18:08

liushuyuvorlon: Yes, I previously talked to the QA team about this, because it seems like they have some special firewall rules that blocked this access18:11
vorlonok but you already removed one test that requires Internet access18:11
vorlonso why aren't we removing this one18:11
liushuyuThe offending request is a HTTP Get request to registry.yarnpkg.com18:11
vorlontests that require access to the Internet are *bad*18:12
liushuyuvorlon: This is the only test it has though18:12

vorlonthen I'll just badtest it18:12

Eickmeyervorlon: I just got sil2100's messages above, and I understand. Where I'm at is that jammy isn't building due to v4l2loopback somehow sneaking in. Germinate says it's a dependency of the video seed (ubuntustudio-video), but I can't figure out how that's happening since it is now completely removed.18:36
EickmeyerIt's also not in the meta (update showed no changes).18:36

-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: accepted python-pyalsa [source] (noble-proposed) [1.2.7-1ubuntu0.1]18:37
Eickmeyerginggs said it's a known problem.18:37
=== ahasenack__ is now known as ahasenack
vorlonEickmeyer: "now completely removed" - task fields are published in the release pocket and not changed after release21:01
Eickmeyervorlon: yes, but they were mere comments before, not that it matters.21:02
vorlonI don't know what you mean by comments21:02
EickmeyerPreceeded with # vs *21:03
vorlonwell at the time jammy released, it was pulled into Task: ubuntustudio-video21:05
vorlon... why is the edubuntu seed git repo missing a jammy branch21:06
vorlonand kinetic21:07
vorlonthat looks like some repo damage :P21:07
Eickmeyeredubuntu didn't exist again until 23.04.21:07
vorlonoh I'm looking at edubuntu instead of ubuntustudio, lala21:07
EickmeyerHehe21:07
vorlonEickmeyer: you need colored hats21:07
EickmeyerI have them, physically. 😆21:08
vorlondd556f0bc548b17f3126732500a1a3c194c9b3d8 commented out v4l2loopback. In July 2022, after the release pocket was frozen.21:08
EickmeyerI have it commented out long before then. I'm mobile right now, but that should've occurred around impish.21:09
EickmeyerJammy shouldn't have even built if that was the case.21:10
-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: livecd-rootfs (jammy-proposed/main) [2.765.47 => 2.765.48] (desktop-core, i386-whitelist)21:11
vorlonwhy?21:11
Eickmeyerv4l2loopback was known to cause build failures even then.21:12
vorlonI understood the issue being reported now is a dkms regression with newer kernels in jammy21:12
EickmeyerI'm grabbing my laptop to look now. The commented bug reports had the reasoning.21:13
-queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: accepted livecd-rootfs [source] (jammy-proposed) [2.765.48]21:16
vorlonI see fscrypt ppc64el build failure is because of a test that needs to lock more memory than is available on this arch.  Anyone recall how that was dealt with before in other packages?21:16
Eickmeyervorlon: Now that I'm on an actual PC, my memory has been jogged. I remember now that once released, there's no way to change the seed even if we change the meta. Therefore, bug 1983136 remained triaged even though it fixed the kinetic failure. However, where we are now is exactly the same situation kinetic is in.21:30
