guivercVanUnamed, I don't know what you wanting 'not to upgrade', but you can in "Software & Updates" select 'never' for new releases; but that will prevent warnings about EOL etc.. so you'll need to self-manage if your machine is online & thus security should matter to you02:01

geniiVanUnamed: Edit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades so that "Prompt=normal" or "Prompt=lts" instead is "Prompt=neverl"04:05
genii"Prompt=never" ...rather04:05
VanUnamednever update anything.04:06
geniiAnd then it will do all the updates within the version you currently run but not bug you about going to the next version04:07
ElliriaWorks like a charm. Edit it as root.04:08
geniiNot updating anything ever is ba bad life decision because security issues even within the version you want to keep should be allowed to apply04:09
ElliriaIt doesn't prevent updates. It prevents being nagged about upgrading to the next operating system release.04:09
ElliriaI'm still getting updates daily.04:10
geniiIf you want to run some static version like an internet kiosk then consider running a liveusb instead04:10
ElliriaI just want to use my LTS while it's still good.04:12
geniiIf you just want to keep using your current LTS version until End Of Life but keep having it current then my instructions regarding /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades and then latr just manually run do-release-upgrade04:15
ElliriaAh, thanks, but although I already use that "Prompt=never!" method above, I don't use "do-release-upgrade" because I manually wipe the disk and do a fresh installation each time.04:20
geniiIf you back up whatever's important first in /home that's usually better04:23
ElliriaI do. It takes a while to put it all back, but it's worth it. I'm usually done setting everything up fully within about three days.04:24
mmikowskiVanUnamed guiverc Elliria: Kubuntu Focus has a "kick the can down the road" notifier capability. Maybe it's time to upstream? https://i.imgur.com/DvynjIN.png04:44
mmikowskiThanks to arraybolt3 for that work.04:45
ElliriaOh, nice! Did they update mine to do that, too or is that only available in 24.04?04:46
ElliriaI like that a LOT!04:46
ElliriaYou can forcibly hide the icon, but I didn't want to do that, because I'd forget about it. For some reason, doing it the way described above is something I'll remember having done.04:46

IrcsomeBot<voodoomagie> Dear Sir or Madam.22:20
IrcsomeBot<voodoomagie> I have a multifunction printer (Samsung proExpress c3060fr). The problem with this printer is that it doesn't print in color, but in black and white. I've downloaded and installed the drivers from the manufacturer's website and from some other places, and it still only prints in black and white. I find that a bit strange.22:20
IrcsomeBot<voodoomagie> I hope someone can help.22:20
IrcsomeBot<voodoomagie> Regards, Wolfsrudel22:20
pedahzurvoodoomagie: I've hit that with other printers. Try this.  Stop cups. Find /etc/cups/printers.conf and remove line "Option print-color-mode monochrome"  Save file, and start cups.23:17
