I have a question, maybe it's not too big of a topic to discuss this here. Is there a good way to set up an automated system update somewhat regularly? I set up a PC running Kubuntu for my mum, but she regularly forgets to manually update her system. So i was thinking there should be a way to do this automatically. Thanks in advance! [16:33] Wahnsinn77: i'm not so much into kubuntu, but i'm quite sure it offers security and stability upgrades automatically by default. but they will need user intervention, in case that's something you're trying to overcome? [16:34] if so, there's also unattended-upgrades, a tool which can install some or all (depending on configuration) updates fully automatically, and optionally keep you informed about it. [16:44] tomreyn: Thank you! I indeed want to overcome the user intervention. unattended-upgrades looks excellent, i will dig into this. It looks like this is what i was looking for. Once again, thank you, and i will come back in case i need further help, but i think i am good for now. Have a nice evening! [16:52] you, too. and you're welcome. === wodencafe is now known as wodiouscafe [17:38] 11 [17:38] w [20:20] hi, i seem to have a problem with nvidia and wayland under kubuntu 24.10, can anyone give me some tips? [20:22] if i open systemsettings and start the driver management, it takes a very long time until the nvidia drivers get listed. [20:23] and though i chose to install nvidia 560 driver (which worked perfectly fine with cuda and blender under LTS) it claims after reboot, that no propriearity drivers are in use. === guiverc2 is now known as guiverc
