cpetetsimonq2: re debhelper vs lintian: I didn't have time to investigate the particular build failure you shared yesterday (currently sick, sorry), but I have prepared uploads to fix a different build failure I was encountering. Please consider LP: #208365117:27
-ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 2083651 in debhelper (Ubuntu Plucky) "debhelper 13.18ubuntu2 ignores arch-specific overrides causing lintian 2.118.0ubuntu1 to FTBFS" [Undecided, In Progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/208365117:27

ahasenackjuliank: hi, you show as having a lot of commits in upstream software-properties, how does one usually open a new series there? I see ubuntu/master currently has oracular in d/changelog, we just create ubuntu/oracular from that point, and commit plucky changelogs in ubuntu/master?18:01
ahasenackand how are version numbers handled? Oracular has 0.102, I guess that means any future oracular upload will be 0.102.1, 0.102.2, etc? And plucky will start with 0.103?18:03
ahasenackalthough I see 0.99 was taken for focal, jammy, and noble18:04
Eickmeyerbdrung: For the topic on Dracut in discourse, do you want it locked, or do you want some general discussion in there? Looks like you're about to start getitng some complaints.18:05
juliankahasenack: yeah we dropped a digit now as it was getting silly18:06
juliankSo 0.103 for plucky18:06
ahasenackjuliank: and branch oracular off of 0.102?18:06
juliankOr change the version scheme to 25.04.1 lol18:07
juliankahasenack: yeah oracular should be branched off from there18:07
ahasenacknot touching that can of worms :)18:07
ahasenackok18:07
sudipseb128: if you are still here, can you please click the link again. autopkgtest seems to be working now19:11

ahasenackseb128: hi, is this the normal workflow for gdm fixes in ubuntu? I see a patch proposed in salsa, against an ubuntu branch there: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/195585020:18
-ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Launchpad bug 1955850 in gdm3 (Ubuntu) "/etc/X11/Xresources no longer loaded, error in patch" [Undecided, In Progress]20:18
ahasenackdo we fix it first in ubuntu, first in salsa, or something else?20:18
ahasenackwho are the reviewers of that ubuntu/latest branch in salsa? What happens after it is merged there?20:19
seb128ahasenack, it's a normal workflow yes, we host our ubuntu branches on the same repo as Debian, makes easier to share pristine-tar and upstream/ branches and to merge etc21:03
seb128usually someone from pkg-gnome handle those (typically Jeremy, Marco or me)21:04
ahasenackok, I left a comment there and in the bug21:04
seb128thanks21:04

bdrungEickmeyer, I am not sure. In case the the general discussion starts to explode, they might be better in a separate thread (to have that separate to the works/don't work comments).22:36
