ghavil | I'm curious if folks here have opinions on naming things. I'm trying to split a kernel version string like "6.8.0-1017-aws" or "5.15.0-1071-aws-fips" into subsets. Currently I'm splitting on the '-' and marking the first bit as "upstream_kernel_version" and the second as "ubuntu_kernel_version". Do those seem fair or is there maybe a better label? Similarly, what about the last bit, would "cloud_variant" be accurate? I hate naming stuff. | 17:23 |
