IrcsomeBot | <DarinMiller> In System Settings -> Windows management -> Task Switcher what option is selected on the Visualization combo box (i.e. Thumbnail Grid)? Try toggling that option. (re @mehdiMj_ir: I have strange problem with my Kubuntu 24.10 | 02:42 |

IrcsomeBot | <DarinMiller> when I Alt+tab an extra tab applies on my current caret and it either remove the line or just add extra tab, I'm using Logitech (bluetooth key max 3 and usb with my mechanical at home ) keyboards and unfortunately this happens to both of them, should I update to latest 6.3 using following command? | 02:42 |

tomreyn | plutorocks: i can think of three reasons: (1) it isn't, nano (running as your restricted user) just didnt gain read access to it, (2) you are running a (k)ubuntu version which defaults to deb822 apt sources - https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/spec-apt-deb822-sources-by-default/29333 , (3) you broke it | 07:37 |
IrcsomeBot | <plutorocks> I ran with root yet shows empty file. Before that I deleted this file /etc/apt/sources. list.d/nala-sources.list because I had constant error refreshing the mirrors. IrcsomeBot | <plutorocks> Did I break it? 🙃 | 07:41 |
tomreyn | so sudo ls -l /etc/apt/sources.list shows that there is no such file or the file is empty? | 07:42 |
IrcsomeBot | <plutorocks> shows this: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Nov 14 13:23 /etc/apt/sources.list (re @IrcsomeBot: <tomreyn> so sudo ls -l /etc/apt/sources.list shows that there is no such file or the file is empty?) | 07:43 |
tomreyn | it exists, it is readable by anyone, and it is empty | 07:44 |
tomreyn | which kubuntu version are you running? lsb_release -ds | 07:44 |

tomreyn | let me run a VM quickly | 07:45 |
tomreyn | sources.list on 24.10 is not normally empty, it seems, at least not the one on the live / installer iso | 07:47 |
IrcsomeBot | <plutorocks> Can I copy your sources and paste on mine? (re @IrcsomeBot: <tomreyn> sources.list on 24.10 is not normally empty, it seems, at least not the one on the live / installer iso) | 07:48 |
tomreyn | oh wait, check if you have /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources | 07:49 |
IrcsomeBot | <plutorocks> yes exists | 07:50 |
tomreyn | can you share it? nc termbin.com 9999 < /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources | 07:50 |
tomreyn | it seems that on an installed 24.10, what used to be /etc/apt/sources.list is now /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources (in deb822 format) - so (2) from above applies. | 07:51 |
RikMills | tomreyn: yes, that would be the case | 07:52 |

myrti | Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my microphone on kubuntu 24.04 (and I'm not sure where the issue lies). When I'm in a teams call, the microphone automatically gets downscaled from whatever value I put it too down to 8 or 6% at which point the people in the call complain that they can't hear me. (Obviously). I've tried disabling the noise reduction in teams but this has had no effect, is there a way I can 'block' certain apps from touching the settings of | 13:26 |
