nano | hey | 12:27 |
woot28 | hello, i have a small issue with a xubuntu install. the appearance menu is not properly linking to the window manager in my latest install. i have to set the window manager theme and the gtk theme using two different interfaces. is there a way to fix this? | 16:14 |
woot28 | in my two previous installs, the appearance menu handled both gtk themes and xfwm4 at the same time, this is no longer the case in the fresh install. can anyone give any theories as to why this is the case? | 16:59 |
woot28 | i copied the entire xfce config folder from an established xubuntu install with the correct behavior, no change. | 17:00 |
woot28 | running xfsettingsd in debug mode on both installs indicates no differences and yet the behavior is different. | 17:01 |
tomreyn | hi woot28. i'm afraid i won't be able to answer your question, but i'd like to recommend that you post a screens hot (you could upload it to imgur.com, for example) and discuss which Xubuntu version you are using, too. Running "lsb_release -ds" in a terminal emulator/window would tell. | 17:14 |
tomreyn | (also, it's a good idea to remain connected for some 24 hours here if you can, so you won't miss any responses) | 17:15 |
woot28 | i'm running version 22.04.5 LTS | 17:17 |
woot28 | a screenshot won't really capture the essence of the issue in this case. the gtk theme gets applied but the xfwm4 theme does not when i use the appearance menu. it does work with the window manager menu however. it looks like whatever mechanism that links the two is not working. | 17:18 |
woot28 | is there some kind of a config that governs this behavior? | 17:23 |
