[16:10] <andypandy> Hello I am trying to upgarde my home server from 22.04 to 24.04.1 with do-release-upgrade. I get the message "Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading" even after updating everything. I do get a message from "apt full-upgrade" that package zfs-zed is being held back. If I try apt install zfs-zed I get that it has unmet depdendencies (libzfs4 and zfsutils) that are not installable. At this

[16:24] <andypandy> Becuase when running apt update I get "Hit:6 https://repo.45drives.com/debian focal InRelease" which may very well be the problem. And running " sudo apt list --upgradeable -a" I get :

[16:26] <andypandy> Yes I assume so. Now to figure what I have installed from there and fix this...
[16:27] <andypandy> Always a bit cautious regarding zfs since this is my main storage server at home
[16:27] <andypandy> Maybe just removing the source and try would magically work, no idea
[16:39] <andypandy> This is why I love using containers for as much as possible. I simply do not understand Linux/Ubuntu enough to solve problems when they happen. Tricky stuff
[16:43] <andypandy> Okey interesting... Just commenting out the 45drives source in /etc/apt/source.list.d/ "fixes things". apt upgrade no longer reports one package as not upgraded and do-release-upgrade does not complain. But I have not started the process yet, I assume I should fix/uninstall stull more before that. How to do that though, I don't know.

[16:58] <andypandy> Well I have done my best, removed everything that seemed to be from that bad repo and cleaned everything up. Then reboot. Now lets go and upgrade and pray to the linux gods

[16:59] <andypandy> And next time. Learn to use command line and dont rely on third party ui tools that complicates things

[19:36] <andypandy> Well all services up and running... Stupidly pruned all docker images which removed one which then refused to build so I had to spend time fixing that :D UPS config and smart test config fixed and works woohoo. Just a live test of UPS config tomorrow left which will also test email sending.
[19:37] <andypandy> Need to upgrade zpools aswell. Would consider today a success
