arif-ali | Hi folks, How do I know if a package I manage is in any of the seeds, to then get that updated for the future? | 12:52 |
ogra_ | the quick and dirty way is likely "apt show <pacxkage>" and check the "tasks" list of it | 12:55 |
ogra_ | the precise way is to look iot up in the seed files themselves or to use germinate output | 12:56 |
Skia | there is also the `seeded-in-ubuntu` command in `ubuntu-dev-tools` | 13:01 |
ogra_ | oh, indeed ! | 13:08 |
arif-ali | ack, thanks | 13:12 |
arif-ali | Planning of changing the name of the package sosreport in Debian, which is then likely to be autosync'd so wanted to see what items we will need to update after this trickles through | 13:13 |
rbasak | arif-ali: another way is to inspect https://ubuntu-archive-team.ubuntu.com/germinate-output/ubuntu.plucky/rdepends/sosreport/ | 15:01 |
rbasak | If present, then there's a file for each binary | 15:01 |
rbasak | Oh that's roughly what ogra_ said, but my point is that the germinate output is run and published regularly, so that saves having to run it yourself. | 15:02 |
arif-ali | cool, good stuff, well, we'll have a transitional package anyhow, but that is for future work to attend to, once we know this all works, and we can point to the new package (Just trying to get ahead of myself) | 15:03 |

brlin | @waveform Hello, I would like to ask how I can progress Bug #2076869. The patched version is already in the proposed pocket, got verified, but isn't promoted to the updates pocket as of now. | 15:55 |
waveform | brlin, just looking at the bug | 15:57 |
waveform | brlin, ah -- when you did verification you set the release-specific tag (verification-done-noble) but then *also* set the general tag (verification-done). The latter shouldn't be set by the verifier -- that's for the SRU team themselves to set when they've accepted the verification. I'll set it back to verification-needed. Other than that I suspect it's just waiting on the SRU team to accept the verification result, but they're overloaded at | 16:03 |
waveform | the moment so I'm afraid it's mostly a matter of patience | 16:03 |
brlin | waveform: Gotcha, thanks for the help! | 16:04 |
schopin | teward: your reaction to my email sounds a bit like my initial reaction when I discovered the changes : | 16:05 |
schopin | :) | 16:05 |
teward | schopin: indeed. NORMALLY I expect such large changes to at least get a mention on debian-devel | 16:06 |
teward | and i missed where you said "In Debian" but at least my response was seen as a "yeah i had the same reaction" | 16:06 |
jbicha | tsimonq2: oh I didn't realize you are trying to do a second libgit2 transition now, this one ahead of Debian | 16:13 |
jbicha | no change uploads won't work for the rust-* packages involved. Debian Rust has a complex workflow to update those packages "easily" | 16:15 |
