[20:05] <davef> I'm sorry, but I can't hang out with the cool kids anymore. [20:05] <davef> I did something terrible. [20:06] <davef> I tried Fedora and liked it. So much so, I'm still using it 72 hours later. I'm so, so, sorry. [20:31] <zxmpi> just run os/2 for a day and you'll be cured :-) [20:49] <daftykins> he kissed a Fedora and he liked it [20:49] <daftykins> i took one look at the lifecycle, something like 6 months per release? thought... naaaah [20:55] <zxmpi> living on the bleeding edge [20:55] <zxmpi> i like linux apps where it was lasted released 16 years ago :-) [20:56] <zxmpi> and someday they aspire to reaching version 1.0 :-D [21:24] <davef> I was gonna stay on Debian, but there were some glitches with my thinkpad. [21:26] <daftykins> anything major? [21:29] <davef> Minor things mostly, I could get the OS to turn on the keyboard backlight, some gnome extensions wouldn't function because Gnome was slightly behind a version or two. [21:29] <davef> *couldn't [21:30] <davef> With some paitence I could have probably gotten it all to work [21:30] <davef> Fedora isn't without it's issues either [21:30] <davef> For example, passkeys over bluetooth are hit and miss. On debian, worked out of the box. [21:32] <davef> I'm probably gonna distro hop some more. One thing for sure, not going back to Windows after the 24H2 Recall kafuffle. [21:34] <daftykins> i haven't tried out passkeys yet, everything i hear is they're stuck where you create them xD [21:35] <davef> Worked fine for me for the most part. Been using 1Password to store them and it's worked out fine so far.
