=== JanC is now known as Guest3759 [15:30] good morning [15:30] o/ [15:30] o/ [15:30] c_paelzer is sprinting today, so let me run the meeting... [15:30] #startmeeting Weekly Main Inclusion Requests status [15:30] Meeting started at 15:30:58 UTC. The chair is slyon. Information about MeetBot at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology [15:31] Available commands: action, commands, idea, info, link, nick [15:31] Ping for MIR meeting - didrocks joalif slyon sarnold cpaelzer jamespage ( dviererbe ) [15:31] #topic current component mismatches [15:31] Mission: Identify required actions and spread the load among the teams [15:31] #link https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/component-mismatches-proposed.svg [15:31] #link https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/component-mismatches.svg [15:31] o/ [15:32] o/ [15:32] non-proposed looking clean [15:33] my team has been processing a milestone for the openstack release last and this week which has generated a few mismatches (and will generate some more - I'm aware of a switch to libsass for Scss processing in Horizon) [15:33] wow, 2013-05-09 .. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-json/+bug/1178274 [15:33] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 1178274 in ruby-json (Ubuntu) "[MIR] ruby-json" [Undecided, Fix Released] [15:33] jpeg-xl is pending security, jemalloc making good progress but there are some comments from eslerm for joalif to check [15:34] wtmpdb is with the server team (I will talk with the team about that, but we already discussed it previously) [15:35] thanks jamespage for the python-observabilityclient stub https://launchpad.net/bugs/2095359 [15:35] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2095359 in python-observabilityclient (Ubuntu) "[MIR] python-observabilityclient" [Undecided, Incomplete] [15:35] I'll get one of my team to fill that in (along with any others that appear) [15:35] flexparser pending security review [15:35] thx! [15:35] I'm actively reviewing raspi-utils for foundations. It's a bit complex.. [15:36] that leaves us with new mismatches for ruby3.3, pcs and ruby-sinatra, all owned by the server team. I'll take an action item to discuss those with the team [15:37] as sarnold mentioned to old/previous MIRs are probably not good enough by today's standards [15:37] #topic New MIRs [15:37] Mission: ensure to assign all incoming reviews for fast processing [15:37] #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/?field.searchtext=&orderby=-date_last_updated&field.status%3Alist=NEW&field.status%3Alist=CONFIRMED&assignee_option=none&field.assignee=&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir [15:37] joalif: do you have capacity to take https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glycin/+bug/2093182 ? [15:37] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2093182 in glycin (Ubuntu) "[MIR] glycin" [Low, New] [15:38] yes [15:38] (I'll be off next week, so rather not take a review in addition to the mismatches) [15:38] ok, let me assign it to you. Thx! [15:38] that's all for new MIRs [15:38] #topic Incomplete bugs / questions [15:38] Mission: Identify required actions and spread the load among the teams [15:39] #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/?field.searchtext=&orderby=-date_last_updated&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir [15:39] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nlohmann-json3/+bug/2093868 didrocks reviewed. Back to incomplete due to questions/action items for the reporter [15:39] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2093868 in nlohmann-json3 (Ubuntu) "[MIR] nlohmann-json3" [Undecided, Incomplete] [15:39] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-observabilityclient/+bug/2095359 this is the openstack stub we mentioned earlier [15:39] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2095359 in python-observabilityclient (Ubuntu) "[MIR] python-observabilityclient" [Undecided, Incomplete] [15:40] still TODO [15:40] and just a tracking update about sequoia, which is unrelated to MIR [15:41] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpisp/+bug/2093321 [15:41] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2093321 in libpisp (Ubuntu) "[MIR] libpisp" [Undecided, Incomplete] [15:42] this needs sponsorship [15:43] So "Incomplete" is still correct. I left a comment. [15:43] #topic Process/Documentation improvements [15:43] Mission: Review pending process/documentation pull-requests or issues [15:43] #link https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/pulls [15:43] #link https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/issues [15:44] I started a new draft about "rust cargo vendor-filterer", https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/pull/76 which seems to be a nice tool for filtering vendored Rust dependencies (cc didrocks) [15:44] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Pull 76 in canonical/ubuntu-mir "vendoring: Mention rust-cargo-vendor-filterer" [Open] [15:44] Thanks juliank for packaging it. He also wanted to improve the MIR/vendoring documentation around it further, so we can ignore this draft for now. [15:45] #topic MIR related Security Review Queue [15:45] Mission: Check on progress, do deadlines seem doable? [15:45] Some clients can only work with one, some with the other escaping - the URLs point to the same place. [15:45] #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security/+bugs?field.searchtext=%5BMIR%5D&assignee_option=choose&field.assignee=ubuntu-security&field.bug_reporter=&field.bug_commenter=&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir [15:45] #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security/+bugs?field.searchtext=[MIR]&assignee_option=choose&field.assignee=ubuntu-security&field.bug_reporter=&field.bug_commenter=&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir [15:45] :D [15:45] #link https://warthogs.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/SEC/boards/594 [15:45] sarnold: how is the security-review backlog looking? [15:45] unfortunately I don't believe anything has been picked up recently :/ we're all feeling pretty squeezed due to turnover :( [15:47] :( Please poke management about this capacity bottleneck. The Plucky FeatureFreeze (Feb 20) is the looming deadline for many of the pending reviews, and it's only 4 weeks away. [15:47] #topic Any other business? [15:48] we added erlang-doc to Extra-Exclude to get it off component mismatches. Could an AA demote it so that erlang in plucky-proposed can migrate? bug 2094814 [15:48] o/ [15:48] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Bug 2094814 in erlang (Ubuntu) "component-mismatch: erlang-doc/amd64 in main cannot depend on libjs-jquery-ui in universe" [Undecided, Fix Committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/2094814 [15:48] The erlang component missmatch from last week is still listed on the proposed-migration page https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/erlang/+bug/2094814 ; Can an AA do the demotion of demote erlang-doc? [15:48] ☺️ [15:48] ha :) [15:48] can we also look at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nbd/+bug/2054480 [15:48] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2054480 in nbd (Ubuntu) "[MIR] nbd-client" [Undecided, Incomplete] [15:49] No AA here today, unfortunately. Maybe didrocks can help with erlang-doc demotion when he reads the log later? ^ Otherwise, you you please ping ubuntu-archive in #ubuntu-release instead? [15:49] r41k0u: awesome, thanks, I'll give the new merge request a look later today :) [15:49] thanks a lot!! [15:50] jbicha, slyon, I can do that demotion [15:50] r41k0u: the part about the different permissions in prodstack sure feels weird, though. [15:50] seb128: may I, [15:50] thx [15:50] ? [15:50] thanks seb128! [15:50] schopin, please do [15:50] and schopin! [15:50] hah, and here I thought an aa might be hard to find this week :) [15:50] :D [15:50] and thanks sarnold for handling r41k0u's request! [15:50] Do we have anything else? [15:51] yep [15:51] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nlohmann-json3/+bug/2093868/comments/10, is it recommended to move some autopkgtest to run during build to fulfil the requirement? [15:51] -ubottu:#ubuntu-meeting- Launchpad bug 2093868 in nlohmann-json3 (Ubuntu) "[MIR] nlohmann-json3" [Undecided, Incomplete] [15:52] or allowed (instead of recommended) [15:52] r41k0u: yes, that's a reasonable approach. It shouldn't be moved, though. But copied. We want to run it at build time (dh_auto_test) and as an autopkgtest of the installed packages [15:53] right, thanks! [15:53] ah slyon said it better than what I was writing :) [15:53] If you can extract some autopkgtests to also run at build-time, that'd be great. Please do so and ping on the bug report once it's ready. [15:54] ack [15:54] Any other topic? [15:54] none here [15:54] nothing here [15:55] So now I need to come up with a fancy "countdown" sequence? :P [15:55] 8 [15:55] 5 [15:55] 3 [15:55] 2 [15:55] 1 [15:55] 1 [15:55] 0 [15:55] Thanks all! [15:55] #endmeeting [15:55] Meeting ended at 15:55:47 UTC. Minutes at https://ubottu.com/meetingology/logs/ubuntu-meeting/2025/ubuntu-meeting.2025-01-21-15.30.moin.txt [15:55] ooo fibonfancy :) [15:55] :) [15:55] nice [15:55] thanks slyon, all [15:55] thanks slyon, all :) [15:56] thanks everyone o/ [15:56] o7 [16:06] slyon: re vendor-filterer this is what we are using for authd and other projects using rust. Nice that it’s now packaged and in the archive, it will help when creating our source packages. I think this should really be integrated into our default dehelper sequence for Rust [16:07] slyon: looking at erlang-doc demotion [16:07] didrocks: erlang-doc is already handled, thanks! [16:07] ah, seb128 told he would do [16:07] and schopin :) [16:07] ok, I should start by the end of the backlog :p [16:20] didrocks: We should have debian/cargo-vendorer.toml fwiw :D [16:33] juliank: +1 :)
