Guest7Hello. I plan to migrate away from Gnome(Ubuntu) due to them neglecting X11 support in mutter and I understand Budgie has also migrated away from mutter. I would like to know if there are any plans to return to mutter in the future.13:48
fossfreedomGuest7: no plans to return to using mutter14:01
Guest7unfortunately, I saw that you plan to drop X11 support in 25.10 :(14:02
fossfreedomindeed - kind of forced on us due to retirement of X11 development by the current maintainers (red hat)14:02
Guest7but it's going to be maintained by Ubuntu until at least 2029, because it's in 24.0414:03
Guest7even more with ESM14:04
fossfreedomsure - as you say - thats 24.04 - and that will continue using our mutter fork called magpie14:05
Guest7so will I be able to stay on 24.04 and get newer Budgie versions or will that not be possible?14:07
Guest7It's not clear to me whether Budgie versions are coupled to Ubuntu versions.14:08
fossfreedomin a stable release, the community will receive support as well as security and stability software fixes.  Brand new versions of software isn't the target for a LTS.14:11
Guest7thank you for your time14:12
ElkMountainHey! Is anyone active?17:45

ElkMountainOh lordie lord. My bad fossfreedom I think I just found the solution to my problem!17:46
fossfreedomlol ... well that deserves  a yay!17:47
ElkMountainI was trying to customize the date and time format for the time in the bottom right. I didn't find it in the Budgie Settings, only 24 hours, but I did find it under clock in Budgie Desktop Settings.17:48
fossfreedom👍17:50
ElkMountainfossfreedom, Haha! I was just looking around about WireGuard support on Budgie and found your contributor comments from last January. Thanks for working so hard on all this!19:03
