sbteHi, we're running into what seems to be a packaging bug in the i386 libtheora package on Plucky. It was already reported here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libtheora/+bug/2095261, but I was wondering if that's the right place to report it. Note that the Debian package it's derived from works correctly, it's just the Ubuntu package that's broken.08:52
-ubottu:#ubuntu-next- Launchpad bug 2095261 in libtheora (Ubuntu) "libtheoraenc1:i386 fails to install" [Undecided, Confirmed]08:52
tomreynhave you tried to remove + install as a workaround?11:05
tomreynthat, if you seek one11:06
tomreyn*that's11:06
tomreyni believe this bug has been reported against the correct package, and thankfully using apport / ubuntu-bug11:08
sbtetomreyn, the workaround would be to remove the /usr/share/doc/libtheoraenc1/changelog.Debian.gz file before installing the package13:07
sbteThe problem is that everyone installing wine is likely going to run into this once Plucky is released13:08
sbteSo it would be nice to see the package fixed before the final release13:09
=== ubuntu_4321 is now known as ubuntu4321
tomreynsbte: so is /usr/share/doc/libtheoraenc1/changelog.Debian.gz also provided by a different package then? by the amd64 variant?16:32
tomreynoh i see you posted an update to the bug report16:32
tomreyni guess you have done everything you could, unless you have a support contract.16:33
sbtetomreyn, ok, thanks! Yeah, all versions of that package are supposed to ship the same changelog file, but for some reason the i386 one does not.16:36
tomreynaccording to launchpad, this package is maintained by the "debian multimedia" team, namely https://launchpad.net/~debian-multimedia/+members#active16:37
