=== Lord_of_Life_ is now known as Lord_of_Life [10:49] Hi all === kubuntu is now known as kubuntu__ [18:23] hi [22:06] Hello [23:23] hello friends. i have connected bluetooth headphones, but i cannot seem to get them to play anything? there seems to be no option for me to select them as a playback device? [23:37] tweak: hmmm is the Bluetooth module running? that is, is it enabled? check in System Settings, it may just be disabled, another thing, does your machine have a bluetooh device, newer machines come with bluetooth, older ones do not [23:37] keep in mind that even if a computer has bluetooth hardware, it can also be disabled in BIOS, if I recall well [23:41] bprompt: oh, it should be working. it's a relatively new pc. The headphones themselves do connect when bluetooth is turned on and i select them, just can't get anything to play out of them [23:42] bprompt: it's true though i havn't used bluetooth headphones with this pc before, and it could be off by default in bios, but i don't think so. i will still check. [23:43] tweak: hmmm before rebooting, check the "output audio" device, it may be something else [23:44] bprompt: oddly i don't see the device even in alsamixer [23:44] tweak: in System Settings > Audio, under Playback Devices, it has a dropdown list with available devices for the output [23:47] bprompt: yes it doesn't show it as an option, though it is connected [23:49] tweak: and the bluetooth icon shows in the system tray? [23:49] I mean, the tray will show it if it's ON or Off [23:49] bprompt: yes correct, and it shows the device connected as well [23:50] bprompt: even shows it's battery level at 98% [23:51] tweak: if you go to System Settings > Bluetooth, can you [Add a new device]? it'll give you a list of scanned nearby bluetooth devices [23:51] it may just not be paired yet [23:53] bprompt: yes. and then i connect it, but no playback, and it doesn't show as an output device :p [23:54] tweak: hmmm wondering if it's the player itself [23:54] bprompt: ill check bios [23:54] tweak: what are you playing with? mplayer? smplayer? clementine? amarok? [23:54] bprompt: thank you :) i was using firefox [23:55] tweak: well, if it was bios, it wouldn't be on in the OS [23:55] bprompt: ah fair enough [23:55] tweak: checked in say Amarok? or smplayer? assuming you use that, since it's what is use =) [23:56] s/is use/I use/
