[17:59] using ubuntu? you wouldn't [17:59] that would be controled by resolvconf or systemd [18:02] That is what I just read, so I make changes to /etc/systemd/resolved.conf ? [18:02] I guess it depends on what exact change your attempting to make [18:06] I need to update the nameservers and search entries [18:07] I edited that file and the search was updated, but nameservers did not take, hmm [18:08] that is normally done in your network config [18:09] likely netplan config file [18:09] Two separate files to manage the resolv.conf? [18:10] resolved.conf doesn't really manage resolv.conf [18:10] it manages systemd-resolved that is a dns proxy and resolv.conf is directed to use [18:10] and your dns servers would not go into resolv.conf but into the systemd-resolved proxy config instead [18:11] or you could disable systemd-resolved, delete resolv.conf link and create your own resolv.conf file [18:11] and make sure to uninstall resolvconf if it is installed [18:11] I don't mind using it how I am supposed to, I am a few years removed from Ubuntu so this bit is new to me is all. === ssh07325 is now known as ssh0732
