EvilResistanceI recently changed my primary email address about two weeks ago on Launchpad, and my @ubuntu.com email address doesn't seem to have updated to redirect to that new primary email address (given that the original email address it was redirecting to is now offline, that doesnt exist on my LP profile anymore).  What should I do to get that fixed?02:08
* EvilResistance is an Ubuntu member, hence the email address02:08

dashhowdy. I tried to create a project on launchpad but it told me the url was taken. I can't see a project there though04:42
dashis it possible this is a private project?04:43
wgrantdash: Usually means there was a project there in the past. What's the name?04:43
wgrantI'll see if I can free it up for you.04:43
dash'monte'04:43
dashwgrant: I think _I_ had a project there in the past :D04:44
wgrantHeh, indeed.04:44
dashcan I have it back? ;-)04:44
wgrantDo you want me to revive it, or just free up the name?04:44
dashwhichever04:44
dashreviving it would let me feel like i never actually gave up on it...04:45

aboudreaultHi. are the servers very very loaded?13:49
aboudreaultit's take very long time before receiving the *accepted/rejected* mail13:49
wgrantaboudreault: Yeah, some people have been uploading a *lot* of stuff in the last couple of hours.13:50
wgrantHm13:50
wgrantThis one PPA in particular has had some 400 or so uploads13:51
wgrantAnd more are coming...13:51
aboudreaulthmm, I see13:51
wgrantaboudreault: Should be normalish now, I think.13:52
aboudreaultwgrant, ok, will keep an eye on my mail13:53
wgrantaboudreault: Have you uploaded 3 times?13:54
aboudreaultuploaded what? where?13:54
wgrantThe package that you haven't received an email about.13:54
wgrantHow many times have you uploaded it?13:54
wgrantSo far?13:54
aboudreaultIn fact, I haven't uploaded anything.... it's my guy who works in ~ubuntugis ppa13:55
aboudreaultno only 1 time13:55
wgrantHmm.13:55
wgrantI see three recent silently rejected uploads: they had the email address13:55
wgrant'heimdallr@MS-7592'13:55
wgrantwhich is obviously invalid.13:56
aboudreaultnot him13:56
aboudreaultyesterday, we upload 1 package.... at 3PM and received the ACCEPTED mail at 11:50PM13:56
aboudreaultis it normal?13:56
wgrantUhhh, no.13:57
wgrantThere were no problems of that magnitude yesterday13:57
wgrantThat email would have been sent within 10 minutes of the upload being completed.13:57
aboudreaultcan you check any mail to jlarouche at mapgears.com ?13:57
wgrantaboudreault: libgdal-grass_1.9.0-1~precise1_source.changes failed: Verification failed 3 times: ["(7, 9, u'No public key')", "(7, 9, u'No public key')", "(7, 9, u'No public key')"]14:00
wgrantaboudreault: It's not signed with a key that's associated with a Launchpad account.14:00
aboudreaulthaaa14:00
aboudreaultit's probably missing...14:01
aboudreaultno mail sent about that?14:01
wgrantNo, because we don't have a trustworthy email address to send an error to.14:01
aboudreaultok, wgrant thanks for pointing this out14:01
aboudreaultwill fix that14:01
wgranteg. I could upload a thousand packages with your email address, and get Launchpad to spam you to death :)14:01
aboudreault:)14:02
wgrantSo it sends a rejection notice to the key owner... except that it can't do that when there's no key owner.14:02
aboudreaultmake sense14:03
czajkowskiwgrant: always helpful :/14:08
dobeyi'm sure there are plenty of ways to get launchpad to spam people :)14:12
aboudreaultwgrant, trying to active his key...  we are not getting the instruction by mail.14:38
aboudreault:/14:38
aboudreaultahh finally. got it. after 20 minutes14:39
aboudreaultnvm then14:39
frathgeberis there an "official" way to report spam comments?14:52
frathgeberor is this a good place?14:52
frathgeberif so, could this rubbish comment be deleted? https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/407234/comments/314:52
ubot5Ubuntu bug 407234 in Launchpad itself "launchpad should support post-commit actions via webhooks" [Low,Triaged]14:52
frathgeberthanks, ubot514:53
czajkowskifrathgeber: thanks14:53
czajkowskifrathgeber: not sure it's spam and not someone whos first language isn't english however14:54
czajkowskiwill keep an eye14:54
czajkowskiopen14:54
frathgeberthat person seems swedish, so you would usually expect a decent command of english14:56
frathgeberwhich made me think it must be spam (apart from the fact it's completely out of context on that bug report)14:56
czajkowskifrathgeber: thanks for the report much appreciated.14:57
frathgeberbut lp doesn't have a 'flag this comment' feature?14:57
frathgeberyou can guess where i'm coming from: think stackoverflow14:57
czajkowskifrathgeber: most people report a question and it gets looked at14:58
frathgebershould have search first ;) https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/4541914:59
ubot5Ubuntu bug 45419 in Launchpad itself "No way for unprivileged users to report (probable) spam or abusive content within Launchpad" [Low,Triaged]14:59
czajkowski:)15:00
frathgebergiven this feature doesn't exist, #launchpad is the right place?15:00
czajkowskifrathgeber: the feature doesn't exist, but if someone wanted to help develop that, we do welcome patches15:00
czajkowskifor bringing the comment up, yes here is fine or like I said, file a question and it gets looked at15:01
frathgeberok15:01
dobeyhrmm15:04
dobeynot sure webhooks is the right way to do that15:05
dobeyand that comment is almost 3 years old :P15:05
dobeybut yeah, a "report this comment/user/package/ppa/whatever" system on lp would be nice15:05
frathgeberdobey: 2 separate issues :) i was looking for webhooks on lp and found this bug report with a spam comment15:07
frathgeberso i reported the comment as spam15:07
dobeyright15:08
frathgeberbut yes, that's 2 features i'd really like to see in lp ;)15:08
dobeyfrathgeber: you might want to look at lp:tarmac as a branch merge bot15:08
dobeywe really need to get it packaged, and make it more obvious how to set it up properly though15:09
frathgeberthanks, will take a look15:09

thopiekarHello. When using bzrlib I get this while opening a remote url:18:51
thopiekarssh_askpass: exec(/usr/bin/ssh-askpass): No such file or directory18:51
thopiekarPermission denied (publickey).18:51
jelmerthopiekar: that sounds like an issue with your local ssh configuration18:52
jelmerdoes "sftp bazaar.launchpad.net" work?18:52
thopiekarworks18:56
thopiekarI suggest it can't open a dialog asking me for the passphrase :)18:56
thopiekaris there a way to skip using ssh to connect to the remote url?18:56
dobeyno18:57
thopiekar:(18:57
dobeywell, if you want read-only, there is an https:// url you can use i guess18:57
dobeywhat are you trying to do exactly?18:57
thopiekarI'm trying to make a simple Updater for Windows and Mac which updates a branch folder and starts the app18:58
thopiekarso I want to compare the revision numbers of the local and remote branch and update the local as needed18:59
dobeyyou want to deploy releases to users via bzr branch? eep. :)19:00
thopiekarWell when thinking about that I would first of all create a branch with "stable" releases ;) but for the beginning it should work for me :)19:03
thopiekarand some friends testing the software :D19:04
dobeywell you could use the https:// url i guess to pull a read-only version19:06
dobeyand if you really think that bzrlib is a good way to deploy updates, you should do it using a specific type of branch checkout, which is not the default, but the name of which eludes me at the moment :-/19:08

thopiekardobey: I tried it now with a url to my code on my ftp NAS and I get the following error: http://pastebin.com/mb6aPK7p .. it seems to be related to my NAS setup I think19:33
thopiekarwell the command GET  seems to be unknown to my NAS :/ is there a way to fix that?20:01
thopiekarhmm thats wired: using get via the commandline tool "ftp" works, but filezilla says that it is an unknown command :/20:23
dobeythopiekar: don't use your NAS as a point of deployment to users :)20:32
dobeythopiekar: also, #bzr might be better for bzr/bzrlib-specific questions20:33
thopiekardobey: ok, thanks!20:36
nemoHey guys, I'd like to vote for21:31
nemohttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/+bug/16031121:31
ubot5Ubuntu bug 160311 in metacity "Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult" [Low,In progress]21:31
nemowhich is driving me batty in Unity (I'm trying hard to get used to Unity)21:31
nemosomeone said vote but please don't comment21:31
nemoso I'm just trying to find the "vote" button21:31
nemoBTW, while I'm here. I really really hate the fact that Launchpad unlike most other comment and bug reporting systems out there, has no anchor link to link to a comment in context of the thread21:32
nemoheck. if you view selection source on a comment, there's not even an id="comment315" that you could turn into a #comment31521:32
dobeynemo: launchpad doesn't have bug voting21:36
stgrabernemo: click the "This bug affects me too" at the top of the page21:37
nemostgraber: ah. thanks21:39
nemoI was looking up and down the right column for something just like that21:40
nemototally missed the little sentence in green w/ the conversational tone in the upper left21:40
