mparilloLast weekend, I reported that the three YY -staging PPAs made the top of my Libre Office Writer ugly on my hope laptop. Yesterday, I could not duplicate that in a VM running on my office laptop. I believe the ugliness has nothing at all to do with the -staging PPAs because I tried this morning with today's YY ISO, and the ugliness is there. I wonder if something changed in the display drivers from XX to YY.10:55

ubottubug 1625756 in kdepim (Ubuntu) "[FFe] KDE Applications into the Yakkety archive (including KDEpim)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/162575619:06
valoriethanks for doing the paperwork, acheronuk19:11
acheronukI figured if it's in, it can get amended if needed. If it doesn't go in, chances of it happening go from low(ish) to zero19:12
santa_acheronuk: I'm going to try to fix something in discover19:27
santa_(I'm testing the dist-upgrades from xenial)19:27

valorieit wasn't the bnc -- I was connected here, but not to linuxchix or rootsweb20:57
valorieand some webpages wouldn't load20:57

tsimonq2cool acheronuk 21:38
tsimonq2thanks valorie :)21:39
clivejotsimonq2: what are you expecting from this?21:48
tsimonq2clivejo: release team gives a thumbs up, someone from the community uploads21:48
tsimonq2(or on the release team, whoever wants to upload)21:49
clivejoI guess its worth a try :/21:49
tsimonq2I know21:49
clivejowont be holding my breath21:49
tsimonq2me neither21:50
tsimonq2clivejo: jot your name and IRC nick at the bottom when you think it's good to go21:51
clivejoI dont think it will make any difference whos names on there21:51
tsimonq2I do21:51
tsimonq2people have seen you around, at the very least on this channel21:52
clivejothe amount of packages we need uploaded is just too many and noone will take that on :(21:52
valorieI do too21:52
valorieI will sign21:52
valoriethe more of us stand behind the request, IMO the better21:52
tsimonq2valorie: it's sort of, "we're asking for help and we agree to pick up errors"21:52
tsimonq2so I think a response just saying +1 would be good21:52
tsimonq2(just my opinion, and the way I worded it)21:52
clivejohave we a list of people who have tested these new packages?21:53
clivejoIve updated my machine to whats in staging frameworks and plasma21:54
clivejoand so far no issues21:54
tsimonq2clivejo: not specifically, but I know acheronuk and mamarley and others have been21:55
tsimonq2me too, although I primarily use LXQt21:55
acheronukvalorie: your blog post got nothing moving?22:01
tsimonq2nope, I don't think so22:01
valorieI asked people to show up here22:02
valoriethey have not, so far22:02
acheronuk:(22:02
tsimonq2there's a user named bipul, nice guy, hangs out in ##tsimonq2, he wanted to get started with Ubuntu Development a few months ago22:03
tsimonq2pinged him earlier and asked him to hop on here22:03

acheronukclivejo: Looking dist upgrades from Xenial, so I guess there is still the issue of discover-common being help back on upgrade?22:15
IrcsomeBot<Santa> Thats fixed in git and staging22:15
acheronuksanta_: Great :)22:17
valoriesanta_: I'm a bit behind -- have you set a date for your meeting yet?22:18

valorieI think you worked most closely with clivejo, so I would trust him on that22:22
tsimonq2could I get a link?22:22
tsimonq2(to the Doodle)22:23
valorie    I think he just sent it to council members22:23
acheronukhttp://doodle.com/poll/iu9e6xnfgubt9fqq22:23

valoriewell, even if he wasn't22:25
clivejoand I cant find the doodle invite22:25

tsimonq2Please contact José Manuel Santamaría Lema if you wish to participate.22:27
tsimonq2Show all 130 options22:27
valorie130 options was a bit much22:27
valoriebut if we can narrow it down, it's ok22:27
clivejooh shoot22:27
acheronuksanta replied to me on telegram a few mins ago, so asking via that if he has the link22:27
clivejothats already past22:28

clivejohttps://code.launchpad.net/~kubuntu-packagers/kubuntu-packaging/+git/plasma-discover/+webhooks22:37
santa_tsimonq2: because the way it was written it seems we don't have developers, but we do! I never worked with so many people in other linux distributions22:38

valorieacheronuk: if you look at https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-dev/+members#active you can see the day they became members, and look at the logs for that day22:50
valorierather laborious though22:50
valorieif you find links like you did above, please send them to the list so the other proposed devels can study up22:51
tsimonq2sent22:51
valorieof course tsimonq2 has proposed that it's too easy and we need to make it harder22:51

valoriefor the beta23:29
shadeslayerokay23:30
valorienot sure why, but I hear that muttered around23:30
clivejoacheronuk: I really don't know, Im so far out of the loop23:30
clivejoall I can say is Im running the packages from staging and they seem to be stable23:31
tsimonq2it's AWESOME when the script isn't working and I have to troubleshoot...23:31
valorieyou're here and that's all that counts, clivejo23:31
valoriewe all do what we can23:31

acheronukso clivejo ....23:35
valorieharald wouldn't *stop* "singing" Danny Boy23:35
acheronuk1) build23:35
acheronuk2) tag23:35
acheronuk3) merge with yakkety archive?23:35
acheronukor 3) 1) 2) ?23:36
clivejoI dont get the merge with YY archive?23:36
clivejomerge what?23:36
clivejothe script _should_ be working with YY archive branch23:37
clivejoand makes a release23:37
acheronuksanta did FW 5.26 in a new kubuntu_yakkety_backport branch in case FW 5.26 didn't work out23:38
clivejooh, wasnt aware of that23:38
clivejoor didnt take it in23:38
clivejowas sgclark involved with that?23:39
acheronukeven a merge might not be right, as basically need the backport one exchanged for the archive one with no changes.23:40
IrcsomeBot<CliffordTheBigRedDoggie> Well my internet has died23:41
IrcsomeBot<CliffordTheBigRedDoggie> And my brain isn't far behind23:41
acheronuktsimonq2: are you reading this>23:41
tsimonq2please work please work please work23:42
tsimonq2I'm troubleshooting this script...23:42
tsimonq2let's see23:42
tsimonq2yes yes that's all taken care of23:43
IrcsomeBot<CliffordTheBigRedDoggie> But from what you are saying, those changes need merged into yy archive branch to make a release23:43
tsimonq2yep it merges from that23:44
acheronukclivejo: or switched via a rename23:44
acheronukas is started out as a copy of the archive branch anyway23:44
tsimonq2hah, I have the deb-src line enabled, so instead of dputting it, it just does apt source!!!!!!!!23:44
* tsimonq2 crazily laughs23:44
IrcsomeBot<CliffordTheBigRedDoggie> I don't know, seems to be totally out of sync with our normal workflow23:45
tsimonq2well it's *going* to work :P23:46
tsimonq2or I'll make it work23:46
santa_well, indeed the fw 5.26 are in the _backports branch23:46
acheronuktsimonq2: what branch are you using?23:46
shadeslayeryou have until 22nd to get me those tars btw23:47
