feisty-fox[m] | Hi! Sorry if this is way off topic but I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can bookmark this discussion for future reference. Maybe there is a way to find it under the user menu but I have not seen it. | 12:27 |
feisty-fox[m] | It seems I am using the element.io app. | 12:27 |
feisty-fox[m] | Thanks! | 12:28 |
feisty-fox[m] | * off topic (or a frequently asked question) but I | 12:28 |

MoonsofMoons[m] | feisty-fox: from what I have found, no. If you stay in the "room" it persists in your app, but you can't leave the room and have it available as a saved or favorited place to return to later. Element / Matrix is not very intuitive IMO and this is a good example of that. | 14:15 |
MoonsofMoons[m] | FYI, there is an Ubuntu Studio Cafe room for off-topic discussion not related to software support | 14:15 |
feisty-fox[m] | Ok. Maybe underlying matrix protocol (?) is more like modernized IRC or something more transient. | 14:20 |
feisty-fox[m] | My deep ignorance is showing 😜 | 14:20 |
feisty-fox[m] | Moons of Moons: thanks | 14:20 |
MoonsofMoons[m] | I really don't know. I am fairly new to Matrix. What I do is stay in the room but mute notifications for rooms that I only visit occasionally. | 14:21 |
feisty-fox[m] | Guess I better save 'dem links | 14:22 |
MoonsofMoons[m] | Haha, yeah. | 14:23 |
OvenWerk1 | any good irc client will have a logging function | 18:19 |
OvenWerk1 | Also with the *buntu* irc channels there are logs online: https://irclogs.ubuntu.com/ | 18:20 |
OvenWerk1 | for example your conversation above would be: https://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2022/02/04/%23ubuntustudio.html | 18:21 |
OvenWerk1 | feisty-fox[m]: ^^^ | 18:22 |
OvenWerk1 | Also note that the ubuntu channels are odd that way as most irc channels are expected _not_ to be publicly logged | 18:28 |
feisty-fox[m] | Interesting -- thanks! | 18:35 |
feisty-fox[m] | Oh nice - I see I can create a link to irclogs.ubuntu.com that has the links that were sent to me in context etc. | 18:41 |
feisty-fox[m] | Thank you1 | 18:41 |
feisty-fox[m] | * Thank you! | 18:41 |

CoryCollins[m] | Sorry, that got Garbled. Ubuntu Studion version 20.04.3 Focal Fossa, trying to pair a bluetooth speaker. | 19:28 |
CoryCollins[m] | I can see it in Bluetooth Devices as a head set, but van't seem to get any sound from it. and the blue light on the speaker continues to blink as if it's still searching | 19:29 |
CoryCollins[m] | The setup says Congratulations, you're finished, lol | 19:30 |
CoryCollins[m] | s/van/can/ | 19:31 |
CoryCollins[m] | Meanwhile, I'll still be googling around. Any of you guys here use Anker BT stuff? | 19:39 |
CoryCollins[m] | Stumbled across it. One more step in the menu bar to actually connect to the already identified, paired, and trusted device. There you go. | 19:52 |
Eickmeyer | CoryCollins[m]: If you're running Jack, just know that Jack can't work with bluetooth at all. PulseAudio interfaces with Bluetooth audio directly, it doesn't even work with ALSA. | 20:13 |
